Shooting Stars
Capturing images of God's hidden treasures found in space
GREG TAYLOR - Shooting Stars
I have always loved astronomy, space exploration and anything relating to the sky above! I was also that impressionable 10-year-old boy sitting starry-eyed in the theatre watching the first Star Wars Film in 1977! 30 years later I decided to start exploring space on my own. I invested in a quality telescope, joined an astronomy club and met wonderful people who ultimately mentored me through casual observing and into long exposure astro-photography. I am now a somewhat experienced astro-photographer with even one moment of national recognition - in SkyNews, Fall 2016 edition - see below. In addition, I have picked up a related hobby, buiding and flying model rockets... but it's for the children!

I'm a Christian and I'll chose Creation over the evolution theory any day of the week. I definitely don't have all the answers, but I definitely find peace in believing all things are created by God! It brings me joy to think that the Lord I serve can simply do anything that we (little humans) have proven completely impossible. He's my ultimate Super-Hero... and I know His ways and His thoughts are so beyond mine! (Isaiah 55:8-9). By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen (Hebrews 11:3)
So... in 2007, as I shot my first few frames with a point 'n shoot digital camera (held over my telescope's eyepiece), I knew that I had to share what I was seeing - I realized God's artistic nature extends far beyond natural earthly beauty (i.e.: colorful fall leaves, snow crested mountains, breath-taking sunsets). He, so long ago, had placed beautiful colorful objects in deep space for only these recent generations to discover using modern observing equipment!

How do I share?!... Since 2008 I have been giving a 'Walk Through God's Creation' presentation for church youth groups, outreach events and school chapels . I share lots of my pictures and often set-up a telscope after the presentation allowing many people their first look into space.
I hope this website, the pictures and notes herein, show my love for this hobby and my adoration for the One who created all things!
